Radalytica RadalyX — Robotic Open-Geometry X-ray and CT

Overview

Radalytica takes X-ray inspection out of the cabinet. In the RadalyX system a robot arm carries the X-ray source and a photon-counting detector around the object itself, an open-geometry approach that means inspection travels to the part rather than the part travelling to a scanner. That makes it possible to inspect objects that are too large, too fixed in place, or too awkward to load into a conventional enclosure.

  • Large and installed structures: objects that cannot be moved into a cabinet — an installed aircraft wing being the standard example — are inspected where they are.
  • Aerospace and defence NDT: composite structures, bonded assemblies and large panels examined for internal defects.
  • On-site and in-field inspection: the system goes to the component, which removes the logistics of shipping large or safety-critical parts to a lab.
  • Tomosynthesis and multimodal imaging: more than one imaging mode over the same robotic scan path.
  • Research and specialist inspection: used by organisations including Boeing, Blue Origin and CERN.
  • Open geometry: no enclosure means no size limit imposed by a cabinet — the constraint becomes robot reach rather than chamber volume.
  • Photon-counting detection: direct photon counting rather than conventional flat-panel detection.
  • Complements cabinet CT rather than replacing it: for small, high-resolution work a cabinet system remains the right tool; RadalyX covers what will not fit in one.
